BEAMA has joined the Zero Carbon Heating Taskforce, a new group launching today

BEAMA has joined the Zero Carbon Heating Taskforce, a new group launching today. The taskforce has been created by the Green Finance Institute as part of its Coalition for the Energy Efficiency of Buildings (CEEB).

With the GFI, BEAMA recognises the crucial part that finance will play in reaching net-zero by 2050. Creating better conditions and finance offerings for both large scale investors and individual householders to work alongside direct Government investment and incentives will be critical to achieving the huge changes needed to meet the 2050 requirement.

The new group aims to ultimately co-design and launch new financial products. This practical ambition will be founded upon an initial review into barriers and enablers to low-carbon heating.

BEAMA CEO Dr Howard Porter said: “BEAMA fully supports the formation and aims of the Zero Carbon Heating Taskforce. The role of private finance will be vital for the delivery of heat carbon heating solutions available from BEAMA members into UK homes and businesses. I look forward to working as part of the coalition.”
