The UK Transition Period

The UK left the EU on the 31st January.  We are now in a transition period until the 31st December 2020. During this period the UK will be negotiating the Future trading relationship with the EU, alongside other trade negotiations (including Japan and US). BEAMA is now setting out our work to engage directly in the negotation process for the new trade agreements.  This part of the BEAMA website is set up to provide updates on this ongoing process as we recieve them. If you have any questions relating to BEAMAs work please email [email protected].

About EURIS  - European Union Relationship and Industrial Strategy

The EURIS Taskforce is an advisory body for the potential impacts of the changing relationship between the UK and EU for the UK Government, manufacturers and the media. EURIS was established by BEAMA following the referendum result in 2016 as a means to provide a cross industry platform to engage with Government on the brexit process and provide a significant representative voice.

EURIS represents industrial product suppliers covered by the Single Market representing sectors with a turnover of over £110 billion and covers sectors responsible for over 25% of total UK goods imports and exports.

EURIS has 13 trade association members: BEAMA (representing manufacturers of electrical infrastructure products and systems), GAMBICA (representing instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory technologies), the Engineering and Machinery Alliance, the Renewable Energy Association, the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association, the Federation of Environmental Trade Associations, the Manufacturing Technologies Association, the British Fluid Power Association, the British Pump Manufacturers Association, the Lighting Industry Association, the British Compressed Air Association, the British Plastics Federation and the British Cables Association.

EURIS produces position papers and reports relating to the Brexit process relevant to the manufacturing sector and issues a weekly economic report to its members based on a tracked set of macro market indicators.
