Intro to BECD, the Directory for Product Embodied Carbon Information Manufacturer Demonstration

Join us for an overview and live demonstration of the Built Environment Carbon Database, the free directory for product embodied carbon information. This webinar is suited to ALL BEAMA members who are interested in hearing about or hosting their embodied carbon information on a free platform utilised by industry.

The Built Environment Carbon Database (BECD) is a collaboration across the market and government, including RICS, BRE, CIBSE, RIBA, AECOM and more.

  • Introduction (5 minutes)
    • Get acquainted with the speakers and the BECD journey.
  • Presentation (30 minutes)
    • Learn about the core function of the BECD as we its inception, functionality, and future development prospects. View a live demonstration and learn how to navigate the platform and add your products to the library.
  • Q&A (20 minutes)
    • Your chance to engage directly with the BECD speakers and ask questions or share your insight.

Who Should Attend?

NOTE: this is a member only event

  • Members with ECO Portal EPDs, which are automatically  pulled from the portal into the database.
  • Those interested in adding their own embodied carbon information into the free directory or learning more about this growing platform and its potential benefits.
  • Members with data in the TM65 Assessment database, with the BECD and CIBSE having conversations about integration.

Although the database is currently building focussed, they are looking to expand the scope in the future to include infrastructure, including electricity networks. The BECD would be interested to hear from any ENI member on the suitability of the database for their sector.
