'Nature Means Business: The Next Opportunity for the Energy Sector' with Tom Bregman, Environment Bank & Emma Brigginshaw, myenergi

BEAMA members are powering the transition to an electrified economy. But scaling the technologies it depends on brings new challenges: securing resilient supplies of materials and components, meeting changing procurement and regulatory expectations, and supporting rapid infrastructure delivery amid growing pressure on land and nature. 

This session will cut through the complexity to show how action on nature can create tangible business value: strengthening operational and supply-chain resilience, as well as unlocking new opportunities for differentiation and growth. Drawing on practical experience we will explore how to build business and stakeholder buy-in and move from ambition to credible action. 

Attendees will leave with a practical Nature Opportunity Map to identify where nature matters most to their business, build internal and stakeholder buy-in, and determine what to do first.  

'Circularity is designed: Connecting product design, business models and value-chain collaboration' with Adrian Segens, Cambridge Design Partnership  

Circularity begins at the design stage, not at end of life. In this interactive workshop, you'll use an expert developed framework to assess the circular potential of a product, identify opportunities to retain value, and explore the design, business model and evidence needed to support more circular outcomes. You'll leave with a practical five question framework to apply to your own product portfolio.

'From Strategy to Action: Insights from Sustainability Leaders' with  Ayah Alfawaris, Wilson Power Solutions, and Jeremy Dodge, Mrshall-Tufflex

Sustainability leaders from across BEAMA member organisations will each share their perspective on navigating sustainability within their organisation, the lessons they’ve learned along the way, and practical advice they would pass on to peers working in similar roles. 

Representing different organisations and career journeys, the session will provide reflections on what has helped them create impact, influence change and adapt to an evolving role and landscape. After the presentations there will be an open floor Q&A. 

Attendees will leave with practical ideas, different perspectives and actionable advice they can apply to their own role.

'Driving Sustainable Procurement and Decarbonisation in Transformers' with Irene Sanchez-Funez, Sustainability Application Engineer; Hitachi Energy

Hitachi Energy will share practical insights and market best practices on how sustainability is becoming a key differentiator in transmission and distribution infrastructure procurement across Europe.

The session will explore Hitachi Energy’s sustainability and ESG strategy, including reporting, governance, targets, and how sustainability is embedded across its operations, supply chain and product portfolio. Participants will also examine how transformer emissions can be measured through product carbon footprints, LCAs and EPDs, alongside the importance of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, material traceability and supply chain transparency.

Using examples from leading European TSOs and DSOs, the session will demonstrate how sustainability criteria can be incorporated into tender evaluation and supplier selection, including weighted scoring and evidence requirements. Participants will gain practical guidance and market benchmarks covering carbon footprint, circularity, responsible sourcing and sustainability reporting, helping them develop more sustainability-focused tender requirements.
