Task 0 stakeholder meeting - report

18 January 2018

BEAMA attended the first stakeholder meeting for the Task 0 stage of the study.  A meeting report is provided below. A consultation period is now open until the 19th of Feb.  Including an online equiry https://goo.gl/forms/pO5kzuioXiSfoQJ62  .

BEAMA have developed the below draft position paper in repsonse to this meeting and the enquiry.  Overall this provides a view on how we think the project should be scoped and the issues surrounding routes to market for different BACS systems (residential and non-residential).  To summarise:

  • We do not support splitting the study (residential non-residential) and agree the study needs to review everything together,  appreciating the routes to market for different sectors may be different with any final measure.
  • Furthermore we urge the consultants to first consider the capabilities of Eco Design and Energy Labelling regulations,  and therefore what can be delivered within this framework,  before determining how and the finer details of scope.  This acknowledges the complexity of trying to apply these regulations to systems, appreciating the current difficulties with package labels  and market surveillance.
