Underfloor heating (UFH) is an efficient and effective way to heat the home, using a large surface area to deliver consistent warmth throughout a room - even on the coldest days - without the need for supplementary heating. 

 

Because heat is distributed evenly across the floor, UFH provides a stable and comfortable temperature exactly where it is needed, improving overall comfort compared with more localised heat sources such as radiators. 

UFH can be used flexibly across the home. Just like a traditional heating system, it can heat a single room, several rooms, or an entire property depending on the installation design. It is compatible with standard boilers and is also well suited to high-efficiency systems such as heat pumps. A single heat source can also be used to supply UFH alongside radiators and towel rails within the same property. 

Many homeowners choose UFH as part of a phased approach—installing it in new extensions, kitchens or renovated spaces while retaining radiators elsewhere in the home. Others opt for a full ground floor installation combined with radiators in upper rooms. 

Modern control systems allow UFH to operate independently in different zones, meaning it can work seamlessly alongside other heat sources such as open fires without impacting comfort in other areas of the home.
