BEAMA response to eco design preparatory study on smart appliances

BEAMA connected homes group have been engaging with the stakeholder meetings and consultations and the consultation we are currently replying to is the last planned consultation before the consultant’s report to the commission in September. The papers for the study are all available on line http://www.eco-smartappliances.eu/Pages/welcome.aspx. Effectively what the scope of this study focuses on is the demand side flexibility (DSF) capability of different energy suing products, and they have modelled the system, consumer and industry benefit of different product categories to review how they might introduce a measure under eco design and if there is value in doing so.
