Celebrating the sector; innovating and sharing best practice

This annual event marks a significant moment in all our calendars as the first opportunity since COVID-19 to bring our community together, and in the midst of this unprecedented era of change we experience across our sector.

This is a chance for you to meet the membership, key BEAMA stakeholders and government officials. Throughout the day there will be plenty of opportunity to network and share best practice.

Dr Alan Whitehead MP - Shadow Energy Minister

Dr Alan Whitehead is the Labour MP for Southampton, Test, and has been an MP continuously since 1 May 1997. He currently undertakes the role of Shadow Minister (Climate Change and Net Zero).

Laura Fleming, CEO, Hitachi Energy, UK, and Ireland

Laura Fleming joined Hitachi Energy in July 2022 as CEO in the UK and Ireland.


Laura has more than 20 years’ senior level experience in the development and commercialisation of large-scale renewable and infrastructure projects throughout the UK and Europe. Before joining Hitachi Energy, she spent 10 years with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE)most recently as Global Business Development Director for Hydrogen and Hybrid Systems and Head of Wind Farm Solutions for North Europe and the Middle East regions.


Originally hailing from The Netherlands, Laura holds a BSc. in Town and Country planning from Utrecht University. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, Laura relocated to Scotland where later she completed a Masters’ degree in Economic Development at Glasgow University. In 2018, Laura took part in the Executive Women Leadership programme at the Edinburgh University Business School.

David Joffe, Head of Carbon Budgets the Committee on Climate Change

David is the Head of Carbon Budgets at the Climate Change Committee, where he’s worked since 2007. He leads the Committee’s advice on the levels of UK carbon budgets and on energy-related to meet Net Zero. He oversaw the scenarios analysis and recommendations for the CCC’s 2020 advice on the Sixth Carbon Budget that set out five pathways to Net Zero for the UK.

Mark Kenber, Executive Director, Voluntary Carbon Markets Initiative

Mark Kenber serves as VCMI’s Executive Director. Immediately prior to leading the VCMI, he was a Managing Director at Climate Advisers, a Washington DC-based environmental consultancy, where he ran Orbitas, an initiative that aims to make capital providers aware of climate transition risks to investments in tropical soft commodity production and shift their lending and investment decisions towards more sustainable low carbon production techniques.

With a background in development and environmental economics, Mark has worked across various areas of environmental and climate policy for over two decades, with a particular focus on the use of economic instruments in the pursuit of sustainable development. His previous roles include: Chief Executive of Mongoose Energy Ltd, then the UK’s largest developer and manager of community energy projects; Policy Director and later Chief Executive at The Climate Group; Senior Policy Officer at WWF International’s Climate Change Programme; Policy and Programme Director at Fundación Natura in Quito; Climate Change Advisor to the Ecuadorian government; and lecturer at both the Catholic University in Quito and the Institute of Development Studies in the UK. He was Co-Founder of both the Verified Carbon Standard and the Gold Standard.

He serves as a member of the Governing Board of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market and is also currently a board member of Verra, Chair of Brighton and Hove Energy Services Coop and a member of the RE100 Advisory Committee.

Richard Halsey, Energy Systems Catapult, Capabilities Director

Richard is a Director at the Energy Systems Catapult established and overseen by Innovate UK to stimulate innovation and transformational change across the energy system. He specialises in the delivery of clean energy and innovation projects working with the public and private sector in support of decarbonisation and transformation of the energy system. Richard leads the Catapults innovation directorate of over one hundred energy system and innovation experts comprising energy planners, designers, engineers, data and social scientists, modellers and analysts. He joined the Catapult in 2015 having previously worked for over a decade in energy consultancy leading teams specialising in low carbon energy, energy system transformation, innovation, planning and sustainable development. He is a Member of the Energy Institute, a founder director of a number of UK community energy cooperatives and sits on BEIS Hydrogen Advisory Council. Richard oversees the development and delivery of a diverse range of innovation projects and programmes for the Catapult in partnership with government, industry and academia supporting the decarbonisation of heat, power and mobility and commitment to Net Zero.

Pamela Bingham, CEO of Glen Dimplex Heating and Ventilation

Pamela joined Glen Dimplex in November 2021 as CEO of Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation. Pamela has worked in various sectors throughout her career such as building products, engineering, mining, renewable energy and oil & gas. Her most recent role prior to Glen Dimplex was with CRH where she held the position of Managing Director, Infrastructure Products Group, Europe and Australia. Before this, Pamela was Managing Director of Weir Minerals Europe at CRH. She has previously held management roles with Rotork plc, David Brown Group Ltd and CSE – Servelec Ltd.

Pamela holds a law degree from University of Edinburgh and has an MBA from Warwick Business School. Pamela practiced as a solicitor before moving into general management.

Toddington Harper, CEO of GRIDSERVE

Toddington Harper, CEO of GRIDSERVE, is an experienced clean-energy entrepreneur, executive and investor with more than 16 years of CEO experience across five sustainable energy companies. Toddington has developed and built over 350MW of solar and battery projects in the UK generating in excess of £200M of revenues over a 4-year period. He was previously the co-founder and CEO of BELECTRIC UK before selling the business to RWE Innogy in December 2016.

Erika Wilson, BEAMA Vice-President and CEO of Wilson Power Solutions

Erika joined BEAMA’s board of directors nearly three years ago. Throughout her post, she has been a valuable asset to the board taking an active role in representing SME members from the networks sector. Erika hopes to continue to be the voice of SME members during her two-year term as a VP.

Decarbonisation is one of Erika’s main interests and she plans to support BEAMA’s staff and utilise its exposure to review policies, propose schemes and launch campaigns to allow the industry to better deliver on the Net Zero and Green Industrial Revolution promises. Through a collective effort approach, Erika aspires to support the involvement of BEAMA in these key activities whilst keeping the benefit of its members at the heart of every decision.

Keith Ritchie, BEAMA President and Executive Chairman of Titon

 

Keith Ritchie became Executive Chairman of Titon on 1 July 2012. Keith has had a long career in the City of London working for a number of financial institutions, including Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
