  7. Zoning of domestic heating systems

    The Building Regulations require new domestic heating systems to be divided into zones. All dwellings, apart from single-storey open plan, must have a minimum of two zones with separate temperature control. This becomes most complex for larger homes; dwellings with a total usable floor area of more than 150m2 are required to have at least two zones for space heating, each with separate time and temperature control. TACMA, BEAMA's Controls Manufacturers' Association, highlights the opportunities zoning of domestic heating systems presents to installers.
