From Electrical Contracting to Electrical Engineering, can we deliver the capacity we need?
A programme for accelerating electrification will require significant skills capacity building in building services contracting and electrical engineering for upstream investment. Industrial growth is inextricably linked to the attractiveness of the sector for re-skilling and new entrants. Our panel will provide practical context and a progress report in the context of this critical pillar for growth.
11.30am-12.00pm—Fireside Chat
Are our buildings ready for the energy transition?
Accelerating electrification is not simply a matter of installing building services and transport infrastructure such as heat pumps, smart hot water technologies, batteries or electrical vehicle charge points. The layering of electrotechnical products into an existing building will require an assessment of our existing electrical systems; ensuring they can accommodate the increase in electrical loads which may also be unpredictable in their operating profiles. Our panel will discuss BEAMA’s Building Electrical Systems dynamic modelling project and explore some of the challenges and solutions that will come hand in hand with the Government’s growth plan.

13.00pm-16.00pm—Sit down Lunch and Industry Awards
