The next International Electrotechnical Commission’s (IEC) General Meeting (GM) will be hosted by the UK in Edinburgh from 21-25 October 2024. The IEC is the world’s leading organization for the development of consensus driven international standards relating to electrotechnology. 1,500 industry experts will travel to the UK for GM, attending a series of technical committee and governance meetings where best practice and future planning will be discussed and decided. With the focus 'towards an all-electric and connected society', BSI as the hosts will use this important event to promote electrotechnical standards and raise awareness of standards through a series of sponsored engagement events taking place in the 12 months leading up to the GM.
BEAMA actively participate in IEC standardisation and conformity assessment activities including at governance level with Raj Vagdia, BEAMA Technical Director, currently serving as a member of the IEC Conformity Assessment Board (CAB). BEAMA is one of the leading trade association’s supporting BSI in delivering this ambitious showcase for the electrotechnical industry and this is a fantastic opportunity for BEAMA members to be involved in the programme.
