BEIS in the Queen's SpeechThe speech sets out the Government’s legislative agenda for this Parliamentary session and affirms BEIS’ commitment to ensuring the UK builds back better from the pandemic. The Queen’s Speech emphasises the UK's reputation as a science superpower and commits to new laws to help seize opportunities for UK businesses and workers now we have left the EU. Measures will also help further secure energy supplies while we tackle climate change. |
Further easing of COVID restrictions confirmed for 17 MayFrom Monday 17 May, indoor hospitality, saunas and steam rooms, indoor sport and exercise classes, and cinemas, theatres and other indoor entertainment can all reopen, as well as all remaining outdoor entertainment. Larger events including business conferences and sports events can also resume, subject to the restrictions on numbers of attendees previously set out. The latest guidance is available now. International travel to green list countries can begin to safely resume, and up to 6 people or 2 households will be able to meet indoors and up to 30 people outdoors. |

Help to Grow: ManagementSmall business leaders can now register their interest for Help to Grow Management, a 12 week-programme delivered by leading business schools across the UK. Designed to be manageable alongside full-time work, this programme will support small business leaders to develop their strategic skills with key modules covering financial management, innovation and digital adoption. If you regularly engage with SMEs, please use the Help to Grow Stakeholder Toolkit to reach senior decision makers in SMEs. The toolkit contains suggested newsletter text, social media posts and digital assets. You can find out more information on the scheme at the Help to Grow campaign page. |
