Incentives

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is payable quarterly to UK homeowners over a 7 year period (a non residential equivalent is available) based on a tariff value for every kWh of renewable heat generated.

The RHI was launched in 2015 and applicants must use products and installers certified by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and have a valid Energy Performance Certificate for their home.  For more information about RHI eligibility and rules visit https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/environmental-programmes/domestic-rhi

Government is currently implementing tariff changes.  Once the changes are 'live' on 20th September 2017, applicants will receive the new tariffs.  Applicants are guaranteed the current tariff of 7.63p/kWh (air source) and 19.64p/kWh (ground source) until the new Government Regulations are published.

As of 1st April 2022, heat pump installation is being supported by the governments Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Details of this can be found here.
