BEAMA welcomes the recent publication from DECC - Smart meters, Smart Data, Smart Growth, which sets out the methodologies for using data from smart metering and is a useful document for BEAMA members wanting to access DCC services. The document will be especially useful for companies that are not directly linked to the smart metering program but are providing consumer products, services, controls and low-carbon technologies that will benefit from links to the smart metering system. BEAMA has been consulted in the development of this document and it follows the recent publication of the BEAMA Consumer Access Device Guide, as referenced in the DECC brochure.
The GB smart metering rollout places a strong emphasis on consumer benefits, which BEAMA fully supports. The pace of market demand for consumer engagement solutions in Britain is therefore greater than anywhere else in the world, and BEAMA strongly believes that we are market leaders in smart metering and associated applications for consumers.
BEAMA will continue to work closely with DECC to support the development of new and existing markets for smart products and services.
