L/10 has two main areas of expenditure, the IECEx annual dues/delegate travel and the L/10 Secretariat. A typical budget today would be approx £11k. L/10 has had to work on a self-funding basis since its inception, with no financial support forthcoming from BSI or from the Government.
During 2001, the UK IECEx certification bodies agreed that they would levy 5% on all IECEx work (subject to minimum and maximum amounts per project) and that this money would be remitted to L/10 as a contribution towards the expenditure of the committee. This therefore represents an income to be set against the budget. This agreement continues with extension to ATEX certification, and will assist in a reduction of membership costs.
For 2003 the L/10 subscription costs, based on current membership and budget, are £1275 for corporate (Association) members and £637 for single company members.
