Heating, Water & Air Movement
Heating and hot water represents nearly half of all the energy we consume in the UK and provides significant scope for energy savings through effective control and a switch to low carbon electric heating, either through resistance heaters or heat pumps. As UK buildings become tighter and better insulated with lower heat requirements, and our energy supply leads itself to more dynamic storage of low carbon electricity, householders and businesses will be seeking modern, dynamic and efficient forms of electric heat and hot water generation. Similarly, the shift to more air tight dwellings means we need to take a more serious approach to how we ventilate homes to promote the best indoor air quality for healthy living. The healthy living aspect of the story extends also into hot water safety and hygiene.
Across all of these themes, BEAMA members are manufacturing the products we will need to live in a safe, low energy, low carbon built environment.
