Market Statistics

BEAMA provides a professional data collection and market reporting service for members based on their requirements and product groups. This enables members to benchmark their performance against market trends and monitor the impact of technology development.

This service is only available to members.

The Statistics Department also produce regular European-wide indices for a number of industries including:

  • Marine Coating Indices
  • Coil Coating Indices
  • Protective Coating Indices
  • Transformer Commodities Indices (T&D Europe)

Contract Price Adjustment (CPA)

BEAMA's specialised team is widely recognised as the UK authority on Contract Price Adjustment (CPA) and tracks cost indices to enable subscribers to prepare more accurate tenders, avoiding the need to put large contingency sums in the contract price to cover any unforeseen movements in inflation. It also provides greater confidence in tendering whilst saving staff time and effort.

It is available by subscription (£ 205+vat ) to both members and non-members of BEAMA and consists of twelve CPA formulae for specific applications:

  • Electrical Machinery
  • Mechanical Plant
  • Industrial Electronic Equipment
  • Rotating Electrical Machinery
  • Distribution Transformers (Home)
  • Distribution Transformers (Export) up to but not including 10 MVA
  • Turbo Generating and Allied Plant
  • Switchgear including MV Distribution Fusegear and loose isolators up to and including 36 KV
  • Factory Built Assemblies of Control Equipment: Excluding Erection
  • Factory Built Assemblies of Low Voltage Switchgear (Home) Excluding Erection

All of the above formulae are available for both home and export contracts except where indicated.

Application of Cost Indices

The BEAMA Labour and Material Cost indices were primarily designed for use with manufacturing contracts but now have a much wider application and can be used for:-

  • Variation of price contracts
  • Annual variations to service and maintenance contracts
  • Evaluating costs for insurance purposes
  • Updating the contract price to a new base rate
  • Monitoring company costs against the national average
  • Obtaining a new price for repeat orders of equipment

BEAMA already provides this service for number of companies, and it costs just £205 + VAT to subscribe. To register online click here or for more information email our statistics department.
