The BEAMA Directives and Standards Policy Department wields influence and offers help to members across the wide spectrum of product directives and associated standards and conformity assessment policy initiatives. The role of the Department is to advance the interests of members, and to assist them with contacts, information and advice.
BEAMA's success comes about through its:
The BEAMA Policy (Directives and Standards) Committee is BEAMA's flagship policy committee in the field of EU product directives, and standards and conformity assessment issues. It is open to representation from all member company sectors and bodies associated with BEAMA. Click here for more details.
BEAMA's influence on events is enhanced by its membership of ORGALIME; the European federation of national industrial associations representing the European mechanical, electrical, electronic and metal articles industries.
ORGALIME is the European Commission's industry interlocutor of choice. For UK electrotechnical manufacturers, access is through the BEAMA network.
BEAMA is active in Government department circles, and through numerous other committees and organisations. A mover and shaker in standardization, with about 200 representatives, active internationally, ranging from the CENELEC Presidency, through the management committee of the BEC, to product technical committees, BEAMA influences the standardization agenda.
