Rotating Electrical Machines Association
The Rotating Electrical Machines Association (REMA) represents the sector of the electrical industry concerned with the manufacture of electric motors and generators, without limitation of output or voltage, excluding turbine/traction machines and those used in aircrafts.
REMA’s purpose
- Provides a forum to discuss issues of mutual interest
- Represents its members’ interests through contact with Government, the European Commission, user organisations and other trade bodies.
- Coordinates industry views on national and international standards, as well as nominating committee/working group representatives and chairmen to BSI, IEC and CENELEC Committees.
- REMA is a leading participant in international negotiations through its membership of CEMEP (European Committee of Manufacturers of Electrical Machines and Power Electronics).
- Works with Government in the application of budget initiatives, for example, the ECA Scheme for Efficient Motors.
- Works with the UK drives industry in the development of customer orientated technical reports and advice.
Membership
Members of REMA can be UK manufacturers or agencies importing from the EU, and will benefit from REMA’s membership of BEAMA, as well as low voltage motors and high voltage motors working groups.
