The Danfoss Group is a leader in research, development and production of mechanical and electronic components and solutions. Our products help to heat and cool buildings and to refrigerate food.
A look back through history shows that Thermia, part of the Danfoss Group, have been pioneers in the technical development of heat pumps for more than 35 years. In fact, Sweden’s first heat pump with integrated hot water tank was developed by Thermia in 1973 as a result of a collaboration project. In 2007, Danfoss Heat Pumps opened a new high-tech research and development centre in Arvika, Sweden. The R&D centre employs approximately 40 engineers and is the best of its type in Europe.
Danfoss Heat Pumps UK is one of the UK’s largest suppliers and installers of ground and air source heat pumps. We have experience in projects such as houses, offices, community halls and schools, and our systems can supply all of a buildings heating and hot water requirements.
Heat pumps are a highly energy efficient way of generating heat. For each unit of energy used to extract the solar heat, you can expect to get up to four back. At least two thirds of the energy is completely free and comes directly from your own plot. In Scandinavia, heat pumps are common technology that has been developed in the tough Nordic climate over decades. We have been installing these systems for many years in the UK as well. This is how we know that heat pumps work.
